CARE

How to Care for Your Hiddur Creations

Linen is a natural fibre made from the flax plant. It does not require any pesticide, and every part of the plant is used. Linen is organic, biodegradable, as well as hypoallergenic and naturally moth-resistant. It softens the more it is used and can last decades if cared for appropriately.

Eco-friendly pigment inks are used for printing. They can, however, have a limited lifespan depending on the wash-care treatment. Please check the label on your piece. If in doubt, you are welcome to contact us directly.

Hand-wash – Opt for an eco-friendly detergent and hand wash in cold water. Try to avoid rubbing, twisting, and scrubbing.

Machine-wash – Plain linens and blended linen and cotton fabrics can be machine washed at 30 degrees.

Flat-dry – When possible, flat dry is best. If not, hang to dry inside out to preserve prints and colour. Do not tumble dry.

Iron – Linen has the tendency to wrinkle. This adds to the natural look, but should you wish to iron, do so on the reverse side of the print. Ensure to iron dark-coloured linen pieces inside out to avoid shiny patches or fading. We recommend ironing straight from the wash while still slightly damp. If your piece is already dry, dampen with linen spray or water, then iron. Do not iron directly onto prints or embroidery.
